Blake’s Story

Blake received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont. Working at the University of Vermont’s Mind Body Medicine Clinic, Blake developed a therapeutic approach structured around cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. Blake then used this approach while working at a drug rehabilitation clinic in Vermont, where he gained a broader understanding of the effects of trauma on behavior.

Therapy in Pittsburgh

Blake moved to Pittsburgh in 2015 and joined a community non-profit with a focus on trauma-informed care. He worked with children in foster care, as well as families, teens and adults from the community. Seeing a need for trauma-focused therapy in schools, Blake began working exclusively in an elementary school in Duquesne, PA. During this time Blake became a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania.
